2. Funding Eligibility

Your school district can save time in the school construction process even before you begin the formal approval process. It is usually helpful to determine at the outset your district's eligibility for State funds, by submitting a Funding Eligibility application — which is separate from a Funding application — before you begin your project.

To help your district make sure its application is complete, the Office of Public School Construction (OPSC) has developed an Application Submittal Requirements (New Construction / Modernization) (PDF - 85 KB) document which lists items required for Funding Eligibility applications.

If you are very confident of your eligibility for funding, you can apply for funding eligibility at the same time that you apply for funding, after completing the Site Approval and Plan Approval processes. However, filing for an eligibility determination at the outset will help your district plan realistically for what funds it can receive from the State, and will speed the Funding Application process.
